SimEX protects the sensitive personal information and the encryption keys of a SIM card, via a protected memory partition, ensuring it cannot be cloned or hacked. This assures the Mobile Network Operators' (MNOs) that each SIM on their network, which is provisioned with SimEX prior to being issued, is being used by an authentic user. It acts as a gate-keeper to the existing SIMs, only allowing access to legacy authentication once IDAT secure self-authentication has been successful.
The power that SimEX gives the mobile device is that in conjunction with a smart phone which has DataEX installed, the device is a secure mobile wallet. The sensitive data/banking information is kept in the DataEX installed vault. SimEX ensures that the sim user is authentic and that the sim is not infiltrated with any malware. IDAT then allows MNO's to deploy SimEX and DataEX to its subscribers that ensures a secure mobile wallet that is both hardware manufacturer and OS (operating system) independent. The mobile wallet is secure on any device irrespective of that device's standard security or lack thereof. Lastly as IDAT technology is inherently tokenised and conforms to the highest PCI specification, all mobile wallet transactions are therefore tokenised without needing any additional technology or TSP (Token Service Provider).
